Our team had a great time at the 2025 AIA Convention, learning, connecting, and celebrating the people and projects shaping our industry. We were especially honored to receive the People’s Choice Award from the Masonry Institute of Iowa for the Sixty Forward Center.
Kasota Stone limestone shapes the building’s façade, creating a warm, inviting, and visually striking presence that reflects the community it serves. The design draws inspiration from Prairie Style architecture, with clean horizontal lines, natural materials, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape (a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright’s timeless approach). Thoughtful design details balance beauty with durability, making the space both functional and welcoming.
Sustainability was a guiding principle. Using locally sourced limestone helps stabilize indoor temperatures, reduces energy use, and supports regional economies. Its long-lasting design also keeps maintenance low, ensuring the Sixty Forward Center will serve the community for decades to come.
Through thoughtful material choices, design innovation, and attention to detail, the Sixty Forward Center stands as a welcoming, resilient, and sustainable hub for the community.
